Best shoes ever
I have large feet and have a lot of difficulty finding dress shoes that are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Since I found these shoes a few years ago I won't wear anything else. They are light and they are comfortable. I can wear them all day, even if I'm walking around a lot, or sitting at my desk. I have one of each color at all times but mostly wear the black and brown. I hope they never stop making these!

So far, so good
I had never bought shoes online - I always felt I had to try them on. However, I'm pretty comfortable that I know my size - 9.5W. I decided to find shoes online since I usually find it difficult to find my size in the Wide size in a store. The part I was nervous about was the amount of cushioning. I have had Plantar Fasciitis and do need comfortable shoes. The reviews made me feel comfortable enough to order the shoes. I have been wearing them for about a month. They fit me very well, they are light and look exactly as in the photos. I would have liked a little more cushioning. My previous shoes had some kind of gel cushioning from Dr. Scholls. I suppose I could get some inserts. All in all, I'm quite happy.

Comfortable & light weight
Very comfortable and light weight, I have an ankle sprain problem. Hush Puppies are the only shoes that fit me well, give a good grip and are comfortable for very long walks (I walk a lot for my daily commute to work) .

Customer Review :
I Own Both The MBT Kisumu and The Skechers Cadence Shape Ups XT and
I purchased the MBT Kisumu a year ago. They were my preferred sandal until 6 weeks ago when I was in a Skechers store in Manhattan. Saw the Skechers Cadence XT Shape Ups and decided to try them on just in passing not expecting anything close to my wonderful MBTs in comfort or function. Was I wrong in my assumption. After walking around the store for some 10-15 minutes, I was surprised to find them not just as comfortable as my wonderful MBTs...but shockingly notably and clearly better! So I plunked down my hard earned cash and I have not looked back once. The MBTs reside in my closet while I so enjoy the excellent comfort (and the same benefits as my MBTs) that surpasses that of my MBTs in a significant way. Lower priced...and better...What more could I want?

Don't even question it - they're worth it...
I had never before spent anywhere near this kind of money on a shoe. But I had plantar fasciitis very badly for 3 years- to the point that when we went shopping my husband would drop me off at the door of the store - I would get what I needed and leave, and be almost in tears by the time I left. At work I never wanted to get up from my desk. I had tried all the exercises and everything I could to get rid of the pain, but it just persisted.
We went to the mall one day, having to go by the shoe store to get to where we were going - and I saw these. I didn't believe they would really help, but I had heard of them before, so I asked to try them on. From the first moment I put them on, I could walk without pain. I never took them off. I wore them out of the store, and we walked all over the mall that day. They told me I should break them in slowly, but I personally never noticed any of the problems others have noted. I have not worn anything else since, and now own 4 pairs. I will never be without my MBT's. The days of crying when I got up in the middle of the night are gone. My plantar fasciitis was gone within a couple of weeks of buying the MBT's, and has never returned. The only time I get let off at the door anymore is if it's raining hard. I've started walking for recreation again, and have not had any problems at all -as long as I wear my MBT's.

Redux - Miniature Sandals
Updated Review:
I was a bit hasty in my previous review. It turns out that due to some confusion between Amazon's ordering system and the seller's system what I received was actually a woman's US size 9. Shoemania quickly and politely corrected the problem, emailing me a prepaid return label and sent off another in the correct size. Though they forgot to honor the 2-day shipping agreement they promptly credited me the price difference. I've had a few weeks to try these sandals now and I like them very much. I bought them to replace my beloved Mephistos which I had for years and had worn threadbare. I'm diabetic and have problems wearing most other tighter fitting shoes so sandals tend to be my footwear of choice.
These sandals do take some getting use to - they're a lot like walking on cushy rockers. This makes it more comfortable to walk as the sandals rock forward with you in natural walking motion. It is possible, however, to accidentally rock backwards far enough to fall backwards, so some care is necessary. They are comfortable enough to wear all day and on extended walking tours. One nit is that the strap that goes across the instep tends to push into your foot causing a little discomfort. This is unavoidable as a result of the walking/rocking motion that is the point of the design. Another nit is that the clips that secure the straps are a bit small and they're a little difficult to maneuver. Overall, though, they are an excellent product - well made. They still don't beat my beloved Mephistos, but they are 2/3 the price and a fine replacement.
Previous Review:
I wish I could comment on this sandal for its comfort and ergonomic design, but I am unable to squeeze into this very expensive miniature to be able to tell. When I opened the box I immediately noticed the size problem and checked the markings on the heel strap - European size 40 1/3, US size 9.5. Puzzled, as the sandals are significantly smaller than my other size 9.5 shoes, I took them to my friend at Nordstrom who measured them with his spiffy meter. European size 38.5 / US size 8. That seems more like it. Why such a significant difference? Have they no quality control? For as expensive as these sandals were I expect much better.

Dissatisfy
I purchased these shoes for my Son - He owns a Landcaping Company and he walks alot... After one week the sole separated from the shoe - He had to stop and buy a roll of duck tape. He love the way they felt and his feet wasn't as tired by the end of the day. Need to work on the outside Quality - comfort is good.

Best shoe ever !!!
It does take a little to get used to the negative heel thing; but after your 30 min. walk, you'll feel like you spent 2 hours at the gym. You get quite a work out. Highly recommend!

Some of the best shoes I've ever owned
I kid you not, from the moment that I put these shoes on, I felt well supported. They form to your foot without getting too cushy. And still, they support your arches and keep your foot in a position that helps your posture and overall positioning greatly.
A power walk in these will give you about 50% more workout, due to the Kalso Negative Heel. It's pretty amazing. You'll get a whole lot more bang for your buck.
I have had these for about a month now. I've gotten very attached to them. The other day I was doing some junky and messy yard work, so I put on my Old Balance (though still quality shoes) and within 30 minutes my knees and back were feeling the lack of support.
I'm sold! I also bought a pair of sandals from Earth, equally wonderful.
I do believe that I'm starting a monogamous relationship with a shoe company.

Still in good shape after 2+ years
I have had my Rocket K's for well over two years, and I have been very satisfied with them. I regularly walk 4 miles in them, and they have held up well. I have not had the problem the other reviewer mentioned of the sole separating. The only thing that has happened to mine is the Earth logo on the bottom of the heel has started to peel off. Shoe GOO should take care of that. They are extremely comfortable. The heel counter is well-designed and holds my foot straight to prevent over-pronation during walking. I have worn Earth Shoes exclusively for the past 3-4 years.
Rating :
Earth Shoe of merit
This is a particularly comfortable version of earth shoe due to the soft sole and heel. It looks like a running shoe, but walking is a better idea with the negative heel. It is particularly good with ankle problems and for avoidance of pressure on the ball of the foot since one learns to walk heel to toe. Posture is also improved because of the backward tilt of the negative heel and the compensation the back makes to align with the footprint of the shoe. It takes some getting used to and is not for everyone.

Feels good
I like the feel of this shoe at work. It's comfortable to wear all day. It is light weight and flexible. I also enjoy the slip resistance feature which adds extra security when coming in contact with wet or slippery surfaces. I would recommend this for a non-construction type job, where you are walking on your feet all day.

NB 631
These are the best. I work on my feet everyday all day. I am on my second pair of these. First pair lasted over 3 years and are still in pretty good shape. I started shopping for a new pair and couldnt find them anywhere but Amazon. They are comfortable and will take some real wear and tear. These are one of the best over all shoes I have ever owned in my 56 years no kidding!!!!

Work shoes
These shoes fit me great, I work ten to twelve hours a day on my feet. I have a high arch and wide feet and the shoes are comfortable.

A great comfortable shoe.
You can always count on New Balance to make a great comfortable shoe in different widths. This was comfortable to wear 8 hours straight through right out of the box.

Great Shoes
The New Balance 631 walking shoes are just great. As do most really fine walkers, they wore in quickly and continued to provide a high level of everyday funtionality. I liked the comfort (snug but unintrusive fit), non-slip soles (very important!), and durabillity (I walk every chance I get!). I have no problem recommending these New Balance brand walkers to anyone looking to buy a good pair of walking or everyday casual shoes. Thanks for reading, and God bless you. :)

Questions & Answers
Question : How much walking is considered good enough exercise?
I want to walk now instead of running because:1. I heard its better on your joints/knee's. 2. I tore my acl so my point stands. How much walking is considered good enough exercise for cardio? Thanks guys!
Answer:
Generally a least 30 minutes of continuous exercise a day is considered adequate. An hour would be better if you can do it.

Question : How much walking will make a difference?
I'm overweight! I am 4'11 (basically 5ft) and i weigh close to 195lbs. i was on certian medications throughout the years - that i recently stopped taking- which caused me to gain A LOT of weight. Since i stopped taking the meds, i've lost 20lbs. I'm stuck now. I think the main problem is that I do not get enough exercies. I work at a childcare center, so im constantly moving/running with the kids ... and i park on the 7th floor of the parking garage at school JUST so that i can walk up the stairs when i go back to my car. I need more exercies, but its hard to find time. I want to start walking. I do not want to do weights quite yet because I do have A LOT of muscle. I'd like to loose some fat before doing anything else. I have 3 siblings that are basically my life, my responsibility. If i do go walking, they have to come...So we wouldnt be going all that fast. (It will probably be the kids who decide how fast) How many hours a week do you think we should spend walking?I should add..... i say how many hours a week, and not a day, becuase there are some days where i really can not walk. For example, most days during the week, i work from 6AM and as soon as i get out, i go to school until 9pm. Some days however, i have a lot of time (saturday and sunday i have all day....monday and wednesday i have 1/2 the day) So rather than aiming for "30 minutes a day" or "1 hour a day" I want to aim for "3 hours a week" or so.I'm not sure how much walking will show a sugnificant difference though. any tips/suggestions = fantastic!my diet is very good. I have always been a healthy eater... lots of fruits and veggies...always. Thats what i live off of. - Thats why I think its the exercise that im lacking. My eating cant possibly get any healthier. But thank you for the suggestions
Answer:
Walking is a GREAT exercise! It's better on your painful knees than running, too. While walking at a slow pace is helpful, it is even better to walk briskly and move your arms at a brisk pace, too. You may not be able to do this for 20 minutes, or so, but try walking fast as long as you can, then slowing down, then walking fast, etc...until you can put in at least 20-30 minutes of brisk walking. You will work up a good sweat and will begin losing weight.I used to run, but my joints can't handle it anymore. Walking is a great exercises. If you have a friend who can do it with you, all the better. My little Chihuahua and I go out everyday. She had a hard time at first, but now out does me by a long shot! Also keep a DAILY log of what you've done...e.g. 2 minutes brisk, 2 minutes slow for 10 minutes total, etc. It will keep you trying to "break" your records, and will remind you to keep walking daily, or as often as you can...self-guilt is a great motivator.Good luck! If you keep to it, the pounds will come off!

Question : What are the benefits of just walking a normal pace on the treadmill?
I am currently walking on the treadmill for about 45 minutes at a normal walking pace. I have never had so many people fuss at me about how I should run or do this or that. I beleive that it is simply better to be walking at any pace than not move at all! I am 47 years old and want to slowly improve my body, muscles, and work my way up to faster paces and hill climbs. What are the benefits of walking normally?
Answer:
Walking has several benefits. Both my Grandpas walked a lot. One died when he was 87 (but he had diabetes). The othe grandpa is still alive and very active and he is 95. He still walks a lot. However if you want to improve, I would recommend increasing the slope (5-10) degree even if you are just walking at a normal pace. This will increase your heart rate and exercise, and by keeping the same pace you dont risk ruining your joints like some high impact exercises do (running, jump rope etc)Walking is great, try mixing it up with walking in nature, hiking hills, walking up the stairs etc. You will be breathing fresh air and oxygen which is even better for you. Its a great exercise! Good luck!

Question : How old did your baby boy start walking?
My son just turned 1 year old last Friday. He can walk if I hold him - he can even run sometimes, but he always falls, trips and bumps into things. My friend's kid who was born the same day as my son started walking at 9 and a half months, and some of my friends kids walked at 10 months, and even 8 months. It sometimes makes me worried that my son hasn't started walking on his own yet.
Answer:
My son will be 1 later this month and still does not walk. He walks well when held, either by one hand or both and cruises like a pro. Not too worried about it though..all babies have their own schedule. Also, my nephews both did not walk until 14 months old...

Question : walking...?

Answer:

Question : How is walking considered a sufficient form of exercise?
I've been walking an hour daily 5 days a week, along with 30 minutes of intense cardio 4 days a week. I've been reading on several sites about how walking is a great form of exercise when trying to lose weight. But how can brisk walking help you lose weight if you're not sweating? I just never break out in a sweat when taking a walk, not sure if it's the cold weather or what. But is brisk walking truly a great way to lose weight? And how?
Answer:
Your not walking fast enough and may not have the correct form while walking. When you Brisk walk the next time try to sing if you can do this then your not working hard enough but you should still be able to talk so if you get to the point where you can't slow down. It's like when power walking your form must be very tight and your speed must be fast. Try to power walk but take it down a notch. keep your wrists up and don't spread your feet to far while walking. Hope this helps

Question : How would you describe walking through a VERY bad neighborhood at night?
I am writing a sad love novel and this girl gets lost. She is walking through the ghetto at night. She is very innocent. So how do i make the readers feel like they are there? What are things i can write that will describe walking through a very bad neighborhood at night?
Answer:
Don't expect people to write things for you. Think of a time when you were terrified. How did you react? Remember to keep your five senses in mind: sound, taste, touch, sight, and smell. Do ever remember feeling uncomfortable, like someone was watching you? Or how about a time when you were intimidated? Just think about scary or creepy things. Try listening to scary and depressing music to get you in that mood. It'll come to you, you just have to give it some time.

Question : How do you stop your feet from burning while walking?
I am just beginning to walk everyday and every time I go walking, the bottoms of my feet burn or I get a blister or two on my feet. I just bought a pair of great walking shoes that fit fine (ASICS) but no matter what I do, my feet are still sore after walking (not even jogging or running). Is there anything i can do to make my walking more comfortable?
Answer:
are you wearing the right socks and try some talc powder on your feet be for you start walking, you might be walking too long because you have just started and you might be over doing it, when you are done with your walk put your feet into cold water with sea salt because sea salt is great for helping, hope i could help good luck.

Question : What can I do to stop walking on my toes in adulthood?
I've recently noticed that every time I get up, I start to walk on my toes. As a child I never walked on my toes. So what has changed to cause this? I know I use to wear a lot of high heels, but now I rarely do because of the type of occupation I have. Could wearing high heels for such a long time and suddenly stopping lead to my current tip toe walking that will eventually resolve itself; or could it be something else. Your answers are welcomed.
Answer:
You should probably add if you can actually walk normally. Can you control the walking on toes? Does it hurt not to walk on them? It could be from wearing high heels so long but if you have a lot of trouble walking normally then you could have a medical problem.Do more walking without the heels on and see if it will resolve in a few months. If not, you should see the doctor.
